Nzuzo Njilo, the husband of reality TV star and bar host Faith Nketsi, has been arrested again for reportedly stealing more than R1.5 million from a businessman in Durban through a shady truck sale deal.

City Press has learnt that Njilo will be appearing in court for the first time on November 16 at the Durban Magistrates’ Court. This comes after police began investigating him in January when a scam case was filed against him at the Durban Central Police Station.

Robert Netshiunda, a spokesman for the police, stated that Njilo will go to court on theft charges.

He mentioned:

Durban Central police have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a case of fraud, which reportedly occurred at a business premises between 30 January 2023 to 20 July 2023. It is alleged that a man purchased a product from a suspect and was not satisfied with the quality of the product. Reports indicate that the victim was promised another product, but it was not delivered. The suspect will appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

A person close to Njilo said that police got a tip about where he was and that he was arrested this week.

“The investigating team received information that he was involved with a group of people who were behind a truck sale syndicate. They lure people into buying trucks that do not exist,” said the source.

Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, a spokeswoman for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in KwaZulu-Natal, said she couldn’t say anything until the subject went to court.

“Please direct your query to the police. I can only comment once the matter has appeared,” she told City Press.

Kwanda Ntshangase and Njilo are both charged with the same crime at the Port Shepstone Magistrates’ Court. They are accused of pretending to be salespeople in 2021 in order to sell a truck.

The charge sheet says that the buyer looked at a truck in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, without knowing what was going on. They made two payments, but the truck was never delivered.

“The police want to find Njilo and Ntshangase because they are involved in tax fraud.” The cops have found that some of the information on the sale agreement was false, and they have now started a criminal case. “The two people are thought to be near Pietermaritzburg,” the charge sheet said.

The theft charges Njilo was facing in Johannesburg’s Randburg Magistrates’ Court were dropped in June.

The charges were that Njilo reportedly stole more than R900,000 from Blaine Evans and James Stephens, two well-known businesspeople.

When Evans started the case with the police in Douglasdale, he told them that they had made a deal with Njilo’s company, NN Chrome Mining, to buy copper concentrate through their own company, Lund Industries.

She put the money into Njilo’s FNB business account and told them she would return it. She even sent them a fake proof of payment to show that she had done so. When they got to the bank, they found out that Njilo had faked the bank bill and sent them only R9.

Police were told they had filed a fraud case because they used fake proof of payment. They were charged with theft.

Njilo and Nketsi are known for living lavishly on social media. However, the two seem to have broken up because Njilo is having legal problems.
